CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-287 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION DESIGNATING PARK AT THE CORNER <br /> OF MAIN STREET AND BERNAL AVENUE AS CIVIC <br /> PARK <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of June 20, 1989, the City Council <br /> reviewed the report of the Director of Parks and <br /> Community Services (SR 89:290) presenting several <br /> names suggested for the park at the corner of <br /> Bernal Avenue and Main Street; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council selects the name "Civic Park" to <br /> designate the small park located at the northeast <br /> corner of Main Street and Bernal Avenue. <br /> <br />Section 2: Civic Park is dedicated to community volunteers <br /> and Council supports in concept the placing of an <br /> appropriate art piece or monument, symbolic of <br /> volunteerism, in the park. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JUNE 20, 1989 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Mohr, and Tarver <br />NOES: Councilmember Brandes and Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> KENNETh R.'MERCER, MAYOR <br /> <br />~~ a~ker~ F~ty ~kerk <br />By PeggY.
