Ms. Stern replied that she will check on why it was omitted from the text <br />as it is included in the graphics <br />Paee VII-11 <br />Commissioner Olson suggested that in reference to the monitoring of diazinon in the <br />second sentence, "would" sounds weak and should be replaced by "should" or "will," <br />which is more action-oriented. Ms. Stern replied that this section is a description, not a <br />policy, and that the language could be modified. <br />Chairperson Arkin indicated that he would like to see language in the text as well as a <br />policy addressing a desire to improve the taste of water in the City. Ms. Stern noted that <br />this Element addresses water quality for the water resource and that water odor, taste, and <br />hardness aze discussed in the "Water Supply" section of the Public Facilities Element. <br />Commissioner Blank inquired if well water is also addressed in the Public Facilities <br />Element. He stated that the City should be sensitive to the public testimonies regarding <br />nitrates in well water exceeding Federal limits. He suggested that the policy on <br />protecting and encouraging clean, good-tasting municipal water should also include well <br />water. Ms. Stern indicated that well water is addressed in the policy section. <br />Paee VII-13 <br />Commissioner Fox stated that she would like to see a reference made to the Zone 7 <br />Stream Management Master Plan, perhaps in the water runoff section. Ms. Stern <br />indicated that the Master Plan, which is still in draft form, is mentioned in terms of the <br />chain of lakes, which is the adopted part of the Master Plan. <br />Page VII-14 <br />Commissioner Fox stated that mention should be made regazding two buildings in the <br />City that aze included in the National Historical Register of Historical Places: Kottinger <br />Barn and one in the Fairgrounds, which may be the same as the home in Pleasanton <br />Avenue. <br />Paee VII-21 <br />Commissioner Fox noted that the Iron Horse Trail which is currently being constructed <br />from the BART Station to Santa Rita Road is planned to go along the sidewalks because <br />there is no right-of--way approval for it to go through as a trail like in the rest of Alameda <br />and Contra Costa Counties.
