Paee VI-29
Chairperson Arkin inquired whether the City could oversee the maintenance of a restroom in
a private business if it is made open to the public. Mr. Roush replied that was somewhat akin
to public use of private pazking if the City would assume the liability. He noted that
language could be added, stating that the City may consider exploring the use of restrooms in
private buildings, restaurants, or shops in exchange for maintenance.
Paees VI-30 and VI-31
There were none.
Paee VI-32
Commissioner Fox requested that the wording "daycare" be replaced with "childcaze"
throughout the document. She noted that the tally of 3,530 includes both childcaze programs
for working pazents as well as licensed preschools that operate for two hours a day. She
requested that that number be split out between the two types of childcaze facilities.
Commissioner Roberts believed that was rather specific for a General Plan.
Commissioner Maas believed that the specific names of the childcare centers should be
struck.
Chairperson Arkin did not believe this was a policy issue and requested that the specific
information in Table VI-7 be deleted.
Commissioner Fox wanted to ensure the information was accurate.
Paees VI-33 throueh VI-39
There were none.
Paee VI-40
Chairperson Arkin liked the change in the elementary school program policy.
Paee VI-41 and VI-42
There were none.
Paee VI-43
F-`'
PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES March 8, 2006 Page 6 of 22
