~ Steve Otto, Associate Planner, wrote a memo addressing those changes, which was
~ distributed to the Commission. She detailed the modifications to the Commission.
Chairperson Arkin noted that most of the changes were relatively minor.
Commissioner Blank liked the iron railing and believed it added a nice finishing touch to
the building. The Commissioners generally agreed with that opinion.
Ms. Decker inquired whether the Commission would like the matter to be scheduled for a
public hearing with a staff report or if it could be adequately addressed on a staff level.
Commission Pearce did not believe a hearing about the railing would be necessary and
believed. that staff could work the details out.
Chairperson Arkin suggested leaving as much of the existing detail as possible.
The consensus of the Planning Commission was that the items outlined in the memo were
primarily related to building code issues and minor revisions to meet those issues. The
Commission did not want the iron railing at the top of the entire arch to be removed. The
Commission believed that returning the item to the Commission as a public heazing item
was not wazranted and commended staff for its concern and sensitivity to the condition of
approval.
!~ Participation of Commissioners Roberts and Maas
Ms. Decker noted that Mr. Roush indicated that the question related to the continued
participation of Commissioners Roberts and Maas will be addressed on the Mazch 8,
2006 agenda.
8.
