Petition in Support of Installing a
Neighborhood Traffic Calming Device
Along Sycamore Road
Location of Device: Sycamore Road
Type of Device: Speed Lump (2" to 3" high and 14' long modified speed humps)
Please read the following information carefully as this device may impact your driving habits.
The installation of SPEED LUMPS is proposed on Sycamore Road. Similar Speed Lumps have proven to
be effective in reducing traffic speeds to 25 MPH along local streets in other cities. In response to
complaints regarding traffic safety and speed along Sycamore Road, the City would like to install Speed
Lumps along the roadway to control speed. The installation of these Speed Lumps will allow residents to
benefit from reduced traffic speeds.
We the undersigned, support the installation of Speed Lumps as described above by the City of Pleasanton
as part of the Happy Valley Traffic Calming Plan. We live within approximately 500 feet of the proposed
Speed Lump location and support the installation. We understand that there is no direct cost to local
residents for the installation of this device.
(Signatures of 67% of all property owners within approximately 500 feet of physical changes to the street
must indicate their acceptance of the device in order for the City to proceed with the installation.)
