CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-269 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A SELF-INSPECTION <br /> PROGRAM FOR CERTAIN SPf, JMkT.T. BUSINESS <br /> OCCUPANCIES DEFINED PIEREIN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the directive to inspect commercial occupancies is <br /> contained in Section 2,201 of the City Fire Code <br /> (20.24 PMC); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the number of commercial occupancies has increased <br /> significantly in the last few years resulting in an <br /> increase to the inspection cycle; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the time between inspections, one and one-half <br /> years, is in conflict with good fire protection <br /> practices; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the demand for department resources must be <br /> directed to those occupancies that present the more <br /> severe fire and life safety hazards; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, self-inspection by certain small business <br /> occupancies will permit a reduction of the present <br /> time between inspections; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said reduction will allow the community to regain <br /> the former level of fire protection. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: A self-inspection program for certain small <br /> business occupancies is hereby established to <br /> augment the intent of Section 2.201 of the Uniform <br /> Fire Code, to wit, to identify and remove fire <br /> hazards through an inspection procedure as set <br /> forth in Exhibits attached hereto and incorporated <br /> herein by this reference. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
