CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-262 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION REQUESTING FURTHER INFORMATION <br /> FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY REGARDING <br /> THE PROPOSED DECONTAMINATION AND WASTE <br /> TREATMENT FACILITY FOR THE LAWRENCE <br /> LIVERMORE NATIONAL LABORATORY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of June 6, 1989, the Director of <br /> Planning and Community Development presented his <br /> report (SR 89:262) regarding the recommendations of <br /> the Environmental Monitoring Committee after its <br /> review of the proposed decontamination and waste <br /> treatment facility for the Lawrence Livermore <br /> National Laboratory; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, testimony was heard from members of the public <br /> regarding this subject; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: It is the determination of the City Council that <br /> a letter be drafted to the Department of Energy <br /> listing the concerns of the Environmental <br /> Monitoring Committee and indicating the Council <br /> would like a new draft EIS prepared. <br /> <br />Section 2: In the event a new EIS is not going to be <br /> prepared, the Council requests answers to the <br /> concerns of the Environmental Monitoring Committee <br /> before stating a position on the proposed <br /> facility. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
