WHEREAS, said Commission has held a Public Nearing on
this petition and has eaamined the pertinent
maps, drawings and documents and finds ae follows:
1. The proposed submittal is not in the public
interest and general welfare,
2. This application is a contradiction of the
General Plan,
3. City Council has never given any directive to
the Planning Cammiasion to deviate from the open-
space theme as net in the Zoning Ordinance and
it is not felt that this proposal is consistent
therewith,
4. The traffic circulation ie objectionable,
5. Thin development in this location would be
inconsistent with adjacent development e,
6. The reduction in costa is not proportionate to
the price. Cutting the size of the lot and cutting
square footage does not permit one to save enough,
7. The dwelling unit per acre ratio is too high,
8. If builders want to build homes that would permit
the individual with a lower annual incoa; to live
here, then perhaps the builder should intersperse
the lower-cost home among the higher priced ones.
This should, at least partially, solve the problem
of providing indivlduele with lower incomes with
suitable housing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of the City of
Pleasanton hereby denies said appllcation ae
• petitioned.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE Planning Co®iseion of the City of Pleasanton on the 12th
day of February, 1969, by the following vote:
AYES: Commissioner Antonini
Commissioner Arnold
Commissioner Carrigan
Commissioner Gibbs
Chairman Plato
NOES:
ABSENT:
ATTEST: Secretary Castro
6. PUBLIC BEARINGS - NEW BUSINESS
a. BZ-69-2 - D @ V Builders. Inc.
Application to amend Zoning Ordinance No. 520 to rezone from an A (Agricultural)
District to as RM-1500 (Multiple Residential) District that property described as
Parcel 2 of Assessor's Map Book 946, Block 3265, containing approximately 3.34 acres,
or that parcel commonly knovn as lying immediately north of the EL Bencho Motel
on the west aide of Santa Rita Road.
- 6 -
