<br />The regular meeting of the .Tanning Commission was called to order on
<br />December 20, 1956, in the City iia11 at 8;00 p.m., Chairman Hewitson
<br />presiding.
<br />Roll Call: Present - Commissioners Abrott, Collier, xianifen, Wetherby
<br />and Hewitson.
<br />Absent -Commissioner Nevis.
<br />The minutes of the meeting, held on November 15, 1955, were approved
<br />as presented.
<br />Correspondence: The County Plaxuzing Co=:emission asked for reconunendations
<br />on plot ~~lans of Rhodes & Jamieson, Ltd., California
<br />Rock and Gravel Company and Pacific Coast Aggregates, Inc.,
<br />indicating the proposed extent of sand and gravel pit oper-
<br />ations. The Commission requested a letter be +aritten
<br />stating that' have no recommendations at this time.
<br />Old Business: The Commission will have a work session on ,~anuary 10th,
<br />at which time tixey will compile a proposed trailer
<br />ordinance to present or the City Council's approval.
<br />Ordinance on keeping of rabbits and chickens within the City
<br />Limits of Pleas-nton. On :notion of Commissioner 'vdetherby,
<br />seconded by Commissioner Abrott and approved. by all
<br />Corunissioners present, the follo~•rig5 recommendation is made
<br />to the City Council:
<br />1. Fowl and Rabbits.
<br />a. Tdot To Ran At Large. It is hereby declared
<br />to be a nuisance and no person shall suffer
<br />or permit any .chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys,
<br />pheasants, doves, pigeons, squabs or similar
<br />fowl or rabbits, owned or controlled by him
<br />or it to run or fly at large or go upon the
<br />premises of any other person in the City of
<br />Pleasanton.
<br />b. Unlawful To Sell Fowl Or Rabbits As Pets Or
<br />Novelties. It shall be unlawful for ax~y person,
<br />firm, or corporation to display, sell, offer
<br />for sale, barter or give ae:ay aziy baby chicks,
<br />rabbits, ducklings or other fowl as pets or
<br />novelties whether or not dyed, colored, or
<br />otherwise artificially treated. This section
<br />shall not be construed to prohibit the display
<br />or sale of natural chicks, rabbits, ducklings,
<br />or other fowl in proper facilities by dealers,
<br />hatcheries or stores engaged in the business
<br />of selling the same to be realized for food
<br />purposes.
<br />2. Cleanliness of Premises ilkxere Animals Are [Copt. Every
<br />person owning or occupying premises where ai~p animal,
<br />fowl or bird is kept shall I:eep the stable, barn, stall,
<br />pen, caop, building or place in which said animal is
<br />!cept in a clean and sanitary condition.
<br />3. Dog Kennels. i~o dog kexmels are to be allowed within the
<br />City Limits of Pleasanton,
<br />On motion of Conmussioner Abrott, seconded by Commissioner ":vetherby and approved
<br />by all Com~xissioners present, the Commission eecomraends as follows:
