Conncilraa Nevis replied that they had sot done ao. <br />The request of James C. Robiasos for a Conditional Zoning Permit to use the Kolk pro- <br />party at 625 Mafa Street as a aaaitoriua for the care of medical coavalaseent~ bed <br />and as~bulatory patients was heard. He stated that occupancy was desired by October 1, <br />1957 in otdsr to begin the necessary remodeling, i.e. checking fire ezita, adding a <br />bathroom, ramp for wheel chairs,ete• Parking would be handled at the rear of the pro- <br />party where there is an easemem. Mr. Robinson would act is the capaEity of Manager, <br />hiring registered mu~aes~ and later making arrangements for a licesoed physican to be <br />oa call is case of an emergency. In answer to Commissioner Wstherby+s question as to <br />the proposed m;aber of patients Mr. Robinson stated there would be facilities for 25 <br />to 30 with bed patients Daly on the first floor and ambulatory patients on the second. <br />He gave as references his former business at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, 315 North <br />Swing Street and Bishop Nursing Home, 631 North Bishop, Dallas Texas. After fnrther <br />discussion September 26th was set as the date for a public hearing. Prior to the meet- <br />ing Mr. Robinson will meet the Commiasionera at 7:30 to show them through the proposed <br />site. <br />Mr. Ceorge Lopes+s request for a variance to allow the building of a patio covering to <br />the edge of his property at 12 Asador Coact was than heard. Mrs. I,Spea stated that ad- <br />herence to the present zoning ordinance requiring a setback of three feet would complet- <br />ly spoil the appearance of the patio. She stated that the neighbor, C• Wright, had no <br />obJections to their pl.aas and was willing to advise the Com.iaaion of this in writing, <br />in addition she explained that he husband planed to install a drainage system so that <br />Nr. Wright+a property would not be damaged by water florriag off the roof. On motion <br />of Commissioner Wharton, seconded by Co®issioner HaniYen, Resolution X13 xas passed, <br />recosrsending to the City Council that the gariance be granted under the folloxing coad- <br />itiona: 1) that Mr. 4iright submit his letter stating his approval; 2) that proper drain- <br />age be installed along the patio roof; 3) that the proposed construction would create no <br />unsightly appearance or hasard to the neighbors; 4) that the supporting beams be fire <br />resistance within three feet of the property line. <br />Aa announcement of the East Bay Metropolitan Planning Council annual meeting to be held <br />September 20 was read. Commiasionera Hanifen and Trowbridge stated they would attend. <br />Mr. Bill Rugg, planning consultant advised that the state contract had been received <br />and submitted the first draft of the "Summary of Proposed Pleasanton Zoning Ordinance". <br />Commissioner Trowbridge mentioned the need for a crosswalk between the First National <br />Bank and Sprouse Reetz 5ltore on Main Street, hoxever it was found that this had been <br />previously discussed by the City Council and because of possible traffic congestion due <br />to txo such crosswalks within a one black radina had not been approved. <br />
