Chairman Wetherby said it was a good idea but then
would be a problem of enforcement. Attorney Struthers stated that the best place to
look for enforcement is through the Building Inspector by making the posting of such
numbers a condition for final inspection, especially on multiple family units, and
should be required in the building permit. He also stated that some cities make it a
criminal or penal misdeamor for not properly posting street numbers. Chairman Wether-
by requested Attorney Struthers to write for an ordinance from some other city and
place it on the agenda in the near future. Attorney Struthers stated that Alameda
County has proposed a survey on a uniform numbering system through:- the County, and
also Thad a proposed ordinance which was ready to be passed. He stated there would
be some enforcement in this ordinance. In regard to this, the City Administrator
stated that the consulting firm for the uniform renumbering system had reported that
only one or two small blocks in Pleasanton will-have to be changed in order to meet
with the County-wide system. He reported that the consultant would be available to
he3~p the City clear this matter in the near future. It was the decision of the
Comsission to defer action until the new county renumbering system was in effect to
minimize the impact of changing street numbers as much as possible.
The minutes of the East Hay Metropolitian Planning Council meeting of
November 8, 1957, including a list of officers for 1956, was presented for information.
Unfinished Business: Acting Chairman Wetherby opened the public hearing on the Con-
ditional Zoning Permit application of Raymond L.
