<br />IN THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PIEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />Meeting of July 17, 1958 <br />The meeting was called to order at City Hall on July 17, 1958, Acting Chairmau <br />Trowbri:clge presiding. <br />Roll Call: Present - Commissioners DeVor, Lozano, Mitchell and Trowbridge <br />Absent -Commissioners Hanifen, Wharton and Wetherby. <br />On motion of Commissioner Lozano, seconded by Commissioner Mitchell and approved <br />by all Commissioners present, the minutes of the meeting of July 3, 1958 were <br />approved as forwarded. <br />The application of Foster & KLeiser for a Conditional Zoning Permit to erect an <br />outdoor advertising sign on the east side of Main Street near St. John Street was <br />considered. Mr. Alfred J. Coxeter presented Foster & Kleiser's proposal and sketch <br />of the proposed billboard. He stated they planned to conform with existing set- <br />backs in placing their sign. On motion of Commissioner DeVor, seconded by Com- <br />missioner Mitchell and approved by all Commissioners present, Resolution No. 31 <br />was adopted denying the Condit tonal Zoning Permit for the following reasons: <br />1) that the facts do not exist to 3ustify the findings required by Section 2.22 <br />for commercial uses as set forth in Ordinance No. 276; 2) that the proposed use <br />is not appropriate to the near-by residential area; and 3) that the proposed <br />zoning ordinance will prohibit such c.uses within 100 feet of a residential zone. <br />Tentative Map Tract 1971, Leonardo& Son, was considered by the Commission. This <br />tentative Map Tract 197. is identiaslto the tentative map for Tract 150 and was <br />sefiled for technical reasons. On motion of Commissioner Mitchell, seconded by <br />Commissioner Lozano and approved by aLl Commissioners present, Resolution No. 32 <br />was adopted approving the Tentative Map Tract 1971 with the conditions of approval <br />being the same as set out for Tract 1850 contained in Exhibit "&", City Council <br />Resolution No. 2617. <br />The application of Kern Wong to County Planning Co~i.seion for an adjustment to <br />allow small livestock farming in an"R-1-B-2" District on the west side of <br />Pleasanton-Sunol Road, approximately 200' north of intersection of Sycamore Road, <br />Pleasanton Township was discussed. On motion of Commiss~mmar DeVor, seconded by <br />Commissioner Mitchell, and approved by all Commissioners present, a letter will <br />be directed to the County Planning Commission ob3ecting to the proposed use for <br />the following reasons: 1) That the proposed use would create a health problem <br />in the area; 2) that the proposed Master Plan for the City of Pleasanton provides <br />~ ~A commercial thoroughfar~Jat this site and residential uses easterly across the <br />fSinnor-Ple- -asan'~~ from the site; 3) that the extensive improvements now <br />~.z ~., uhder construction at the Pleasanton Sewage Disposal Plant will make higher uses <br />~/-~~/~ ~~-, of adjacent property possible; 4) that property is adjacent to the City limits, <br />the next logical annexation, and contemplated as a part of the City in the <br />immediate flnture. <br />As there was no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 10:30 p.m. to meet again in regular adjourned session on Thursday, <br />July 31, 1958 at 8:00 p.m. <br />~~~~ ~~. <br />Secretary <br />
