IN THE PL9NNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA - STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />Minutes <br />September 3, 1959 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Pleasanton Planning Commission was called to order at <br />the City Hall on the above date at 8 p.m. with Commissioner Hanifen presiding. <br />Roll Call: Present - Cotmmissioners Alllson, Hanifen, Tendon, Lozano, Mitchell <br />Absent -None <br />On motion of Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Landon, and approved by all Com- <br />missioners present the minutes of August 20 & August 27, 1959 were approved as read. <br />The application of Luis and Wanda Claser of 537 Main Street, Pleasanton for a Conditional <br />Zoning Permit to construct 2 - 2 bedroom duplexes and 1-3 bedroom house at southwest corner <br />of Rose Avenue and Western Pacific right-of-way, was denied by all coffinissioners present after <br />a field trip to the above mentioned property prior to regular meeting in the City Hall and <br />a discussion held in the regularly scheduled meeting disclosed that a too high density con- <br />dition already existed, and the above proposed buildings would not conform to the Interim <br />Zoning Ordinance. Mr. Turner of Harmony Homes representing Wanda Glaser was given the oppor- <br />tunity of filing an appeal to the City Council within seven days. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 68 granting the Conditional Zoning Permit to Helen K: Dunn to construct a six <br />unit professional building at 119 St. John Street was adopted on motion of Commisaioner Landon <br />seconded by Commissioner Lozano, and approved by all commissioners present with the following <br />conditions: <br />1. Parking area in driveway be paved. <br />2. 20 ft. front yard setback. <br />3. Each driveway to be 12 ft. width minimum. <br />4. One parking place for each 200 sq. ft. of building area. <br />5. Front yard to be landscaped. <br />6. Sign area not to exceed 90 ft. with indirect lighting . <br />7. Complete plot plan to be filed with City Engineer before a building permit <br />is issued. <br />Application for Conditional Zoning Permit by Alfred J. Avilla to construct s carport on exist- <br />ing structure at 991 Rose Avenue was deferred until the next .regular planning meeting because <br />of Mr. Avilla§failure to be present. The secretary was instructed to notify Mr. Avilla to <br />submit a more complete plot plan with correct dimensions. <br />Application for Conditional Zoning Permit by Stuchlik's & Erickson on behalf of Mrs. Anna <br />Brown of Mitcnel Ave., San Leandro, to construct a six unit apartment on South Division Street <br />adjacent to the Western Pacific Railroad according to Plot Plan submittefl,wss deferred to <br />the next regular Planning Commission Meeting on September 17, 1959• Further study is needed <br />on the above for which a Study Session has been called at 7:30 p.m. prior to the meeting on <br />September 17, 1959• <br />The Variance for W. R. Trublood and Modena Trublood to enlarge an existing residence to be <br />used as a rest home, was changed to read as a Conditional Zoning Permit by City Attorney <br />Struthers and $40.00 of the $50.00 submitted with the application be refunded and the $10.00 <br />balance to apply on the Conditional Zoning Permit. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 69 granting the Conditional Zoning Permit to W. A. Trublood and Modena Tru- <br />blood of 588 St. John Street to enlarge residence for use as rest home was adopted on motion <br />of Commissioner Landon seconded by Commissioner Lozano and approved by all commissioners <br />present and a public hearing deemed unnecessary with the following conditions: <br />1. Existing ~ ft. side yard setback be permitted on extension of the new con- <br />struction according to plot plans submitted. <br />2. Off street parking for six cars. <br />3. Parking area to be paved witkl1three years. <br />Commissioners Lozano and Ianden were appointed to serve on the OfP Street Parking Committee <br />with Commissioner Hanifen as an alternate, by Acting Commissioner Aanifen. <br /> <br />
