ZN THE PLANNIN3 COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PIEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />Minutes <br />Meeting of February 5, 1959 <br />The meeting of the Pleasanton Planning Commission was called to order at City Hall <br />on February 5, 1959, at 8:00 otclock, Vice Chairman Hanifen presiding. <br />Roll Call: Present: Commissioners Allison, l+h:arton, Lozano and Hanifen <br />Absent: Commissioners DeVor, Mitchell and Wetherby <br />On motion of Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Lozano and approved by <br />all Commissioners present, the minutes of the meeting of January 8, 1959 were <br />approved as submitted. <br />Representatives of Nuclear Engineering, Inc. were present to request an amendment to <br />Resolution P1o. 51, which granted them a Conditional Zoning Permit. The proposed <br />agreement which vrould become terms of the amended Permit, upon approval of the City <br />Planning Commission, was presented by the City Administrator. Discussion followed <br />relative to the proposed sewer easement and future extension of the present se-vrer <br />line. Upon motion of Commissioner Wharton, seconded by Commissioner Lozano the <br />following amendments to Resolution No. 51 were approved by all Commissioners present: <br />1) Applicant would relocate the proposed building so that it is not over the exist- <br />ing sewer line; 2) Applicant or owner would grant the City an easement of record <br />for the existing sewer line; 3) Said easement will provide that City would relinquish <br />and grant title for the owner upon relocation or abandonment of existing sewer line; <br />4) The City would permit applicant to use the existing sewer line, not to exceed one- <br />half of the capacity of said 6" line; 5) Owner will grant the City a 10~ sewer ease- <br />ment along the easterly boundary from Ray Street to Arroyo del Valle; b) Upon further <br />expansion by applicant requiring relocation of existing line, applicant will grant the <br />City a new easement to hold the existing sewer, runnir;g at right angles to the proper- <br />ty line at a location to be agreed upon by applicant and the City. <br />Inasmuch as neither Mr. Roy Jensen, or any representative, was present his applicat- <br />ion for a Conditional Zoning Permit for Professional Tract will be held over until <br />the next meeting. <br />A letter from the County Planning Commission referring the request of Hedwig Gruening <br />for a use permit to establish a rest home for six persons at Rt. 1 Box 33, Sycamore <br />Road was read. Mrs. Gruening stated that there were no objections from the surround- <br />ing neighbors, that a rest home had been in operation at that site for the past three <br />years and that they were now seeking to obtain a permit to care for aged persons. <br />Commissioner Wharton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Allison and approved by <br />all Commissioners present that a letter be directed to the County Planning Commission <br />stating that the Pleasanton Commission had no objections to the granting of the permit. <br />Mr. Raymond Souza and Mr. Charles Palmer Presented their request for a Conditional <br />Zoning Permit to establish the Valley Office Equipment Co. at 416 N.ain Street, Pleasan- <br />ton. On motion of Commissioner Wharton, seconded by Commissioner Lozano and approved <br />by all Commissioners present, RESOLUTION N0. 52 was adopted, stating that no public <br />hearing is deemed necessary in the public interest on this matter; that the condit- <br />ions of the applicable sections of Ordinance No. 276 are met, and that the Conditional <br />Zoning Permit is hereby granted. <br />Mr. Ray Haskell, Superintendant of Schools was present to discuss the coming bond <br />election, calling for $350,000 bond issue, on the total Elementary School District. <br />He enumerated the future needs of the school district, the proposed use of the money <br />received, the State Aide program, tax rates, etc. He stated that the new funds <br />would be used for the establishment of a new school, possibly located on the Muaso <br />property on Vineyard Avenue and providing for the immediate erection of a 12,000 sq. <br />ft. building. Further discussion relative to the proposed improvementof Vineyard Ave. <br />and the adjacent sewer line by the City and the resultant benefit to the school followed. <br />A letter from the County Planning Commission, ecnlosing a Summary on Conference on <br />
