IN THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF PI.EASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFOIdVIA <br />MINUTES <br />August 17, 1961 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to <br />order by the Chairman Ralph Mitchell, at 8:10 P.M ., on the above date. <br />ROLL CALL showed present: Commissioners Tendon, Lozano, and Rega. <br />Absent: Commissioner Antonini and Ex-officio Commissioners <br />Dana, Hohn, Kamp and King. <br />Corronissioner Landon proposed that the minutes of the meeting of August 3, <br />1961, be corrected to show that the Commission did not approve the plans for the <br />new Pleasanton Post off;_ce, but tkiat the plans were referred to the staff for <br />further study. It was also proposed that the minutes of the P.ugust 3, 1961 <br />meeting be corrected to indicate that the City Attorney had given the opinion that <br />the Federal Government could construct the new Post Office building without <br />Commission approval. <br />On motion of Commissioner Tendon, <br />approved by all Commissioners present, <br />proved as corrected. <br />seconded by Commissioner Mitchell, and <br />the minutes of August 3, 1961 were ap- <br />It was moved by Commissioner Tendon, seconded by Commissioner Rega, and <br />approved by all Commissioners present that the City Administrator address a <br />communication to the Post Office Department suggesting that further consideration <br />be given to pedestrian access, ingress and egress for large trucks, and the <br />location of truck entrances in terms of the most efficient use of loading zones in <br />connection with the new Post Office. It was pointed out that City policy usually <br />requires performance Standards approval when buildings of this type are constructed <br />Commissioner Landon moved, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, and passed by <br />all Commissioners present that the date of September 7, 1961, be set as the <br />public hearing date for the Variance application of F. A. Arlt. <br />The Secretary read a communication from the Alameda County Planning Commission <br />submitting plans for General Electric Company's new atomic reactor, to be con- <br />structed at the Vallecitos Laboratory. After review of the plans, it was moved <br />by Commissioner Landon, seconded by Commissioner Rega and approved by all <br />Commissioners present that the plans and the proposal embodied therein is com- <br />patible with the expanded General Plan, and that the Commission encourages such <br />development in this area. <br />The Secretary read a communication from Mr. Robert J. Wasoski, 4017 Silver <br />Street, indicating his intent to conduct a small appliance repair business as <br />a home occupation, and indicating his intent to comply with Section 17.604 of <br />Ordinance No. 309 regarding such home occupations. No action was deemed necessary <br />regarding this matter. <br />The Secretary read a letter from Alameda County Fair Manager indicating <br />the interest of the Fair Board of Directors in attending discussions of the <br />Planning Commission relative to the development of the Fairgrounds in relation <br />to the expanded General Plan. The Commission indicated that the Fair Board will <br />be invited to fixture discussions of this nature. <br />The Commission then entered into a further discussion of the proposed <br />Subdivision Ordinance. <br />Commissioner T~ozano moved, seconded by Commissioner Tendon and passed <br />unanimously that the meeting be adjourned at 10:15 P.M. <br />Secretary <br />
