TnT T"^ F'TANPT~',i,: CO'~1y'_1?=,TON <br />STA'"E i P C'".LlY'0.'.tf?~ <br />MINUTES <br />October 19, 1961 <br />The regularly scheduled meet'r.g ox` the Planning Commission was called to <br />order by the Chairman Ralph Mitchell at 8:05 p.m., on the above date. <br />ROLL CALL showed present: Commissioners Antonini, Landon, Lozano and Rega. <br />absent: Ex-Officio Comcnission.ers Dana, Hohn, Kamp and King. <br />On motion of Commissioner Iar.don, seconded by Comin'ssioner Antonini and <br />approved by all Commissioners pr :=sent the Minutes of October 5, 1961 were approved <br />as corrected. <br />Public Hearing for R, N. Jensen (Amador Valley Homes) was opened on applica- <br />tion for a variance of 5' from Section 6.5 of Ord. No. 309, Front Yard setback, <br />in order to construct single family dwelling in an R-1 District at 4115 Nevis 9t. <br />On motion of Commissioner Landon, seconded by Commissioner Lozano and approved <br />by all Commissioners present Resolution No. 159 was adopted . <br />RESOLUTION N0. 159 <br />Whereas, the application of Roy N. Jensen, (Amador Valley Homes), for a <br />Variance frcm.section 6.5 of Ordinance No. 309, front yard setback, in order to <br />construct a sin~~a Family dwelling in an R-1 District at 4115 Nevis Street, having <br />come be Fore this Commnission October 19, 1961, under Ordinance No. 309 as amended, <br />the Planning Commission does hereby resolve as fol'_o~rs: <br />1. The Planning Conunission does find as follows: <br />a. Notice has besn gig*en as required by law. <br />b. The Circumstances required by Section 19.1003 of said Ordinance do <br />exist. <br />2. The Variance is hereby granted. <br />3. A copy of this Resolution shall be sent to interested parties. <br />Secretary Fates read Ordinance No. 332, amending Zoning Ordinance No. 309- <br />providing for suspension sideyard, front and rearyard setbacks, in all residential <br />zones for construction of fall-out and blast shelters entirely below the ground <br />surface. This Ordinance will be mailed to the commi~ioners along with the excerpt <br />from the City of Livermore's Interim Zoning Standards for Fallout shelters. <br />Discussion was held on fallout shelters and the following wss recommended <br />Por further study by the staff and City Engineer: <br />Shelters in the front yard will be underground with no setback, the protru- <br />sion shall have a five foot setback and a height regulation of not more than 30" <br />In the rearyard, underground shelters maybe up to the property line, and no <br />regulations on the protrusions. There will be a 5' setback for above ground <br />structures, with a 6' regulation on protrusions. sideyard structures shall be <br />,underground, 3' setback for protrusions, and 30 " height regulation for same. <br />:'The City Engineer must approve same. All shelters, other than private, will be <br />subject to use permits. Safety laws of the city, county and state shall be ad- <br />hered to. <br />A list of the Goals, formerly made by the Commission, were distributed and <br />are to be studied and discussed at the next meeting. <br />Secretary Fales read a letter from ~;he Associated Home Builders concerning <br />Condominium. There ~.ri11 be a meeting o+~ same November 28th . <br />The Secretary gave the Cormnissiori copies of the Capital Improvement Budget. <br />On motion of Commissioner Mitchell, seconded by Commissioner Rega and approved <br />by all Commissioners the meeting was adjourned at g:45 p.m. to meet again on <br />November 2, 1861 at S:OJ p.m. <br />ecre ary <br />
