CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 89-208 REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO PT~ASANTON ENGINEERING CONTRACTORS, FOR THE FOOTHITS. ROAD BOOSTER PUMP STATION NO. 1 - NPID NO. 2 WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for the Foothill Road Booster Pump Station No. 1 - NPID No. 2; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 37900, et seq., the City Engineering Services Division advertised for bids regarding this project; and WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on May 2, 1989; and WHEREAS, the lowest bid received was from Lionsgate Corporation, but for the reasons set forth in the staff report from the Public Works Director (SR 89:196) and in the memorandum dated April 28, 1989 from the Public Works Director, Lionsgate Corporation is determined to be not a responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, the bid of Pleasanton Engineering Contractors, in the amount of $245,000.00 is determined to be the lowest responsible bid; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Utilities recommended that the bid of Pleasanton Engineering Contractors be accepted; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The low bid of Lionsgate Corporation of Alamo, California is hereby rejected on the basis that the bidder is not a responsible bidder. Section 2: The bid of Pleasanton Engineering Contractors, in the amount of $245,000.00, for The Foothill Road Booster Pump Station No. 1 - NPID No. 2, is hereby accepted by the City Council as the lowest responsible bid. Section 3: The City Manager is authorized to execute a contract with Pleasanton Engineering Contractors for the improvements specified above. Section 4: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
