CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-208 <br /> <br /> REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO <br /> PT~ASANTON ENGINEERING CONTRACTORS, FOR <br /> THE FOOTHITS. ROAD BOOSTER PUMP STATION <br /> NO. 1 - NPID NO. 2 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for <br /> the Foothill Road Booster Pump Station No. 1 - <br /> NPID No. 2; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 37900, et seq., <br /> the City Engineering Services Division advertised <br /> for bids regarding this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on <br /> May 2, 1989; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the lowest bid received was from Lionsgate <br /> Corporation, but for the reasons set forth in the <br /> staff report from the Public Works Director <br /> (SR 89:196) and in the memorandum dated April 28, <br /> 1989 from the Public Works Director, Lionsgate <br /> Corporation is determined to be not a responsible <br /> bidder; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Pleasanton Engineering Contractors, in <br /> the amount of $245,000.00 is determined to be the <br /> lowest responsible bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Utilities <br /> recommended that the bid of Pleasanton Engineering <br /> Contractors be accepted; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The low bid of Lionsgate Corporation of Alamo, <br /> California is hereby rejected on the basis that the <br /> bidder is not a responsible bidder. <br /> <br />Section 2: The bid of Pleasanton Engineering Contractors, in <br /> the amount of $245,000.00, for The Foothill Road <br /> Booster Pump Station No. 1 - NPID No. 2, is hereby <br /> accepted by the City Council as the lowest <br /> responsible bid. <br /> <br />Section 3: The City Manager is authorized to execute a <br /> contract with Pleasanton Engineering Contractors <br /> for the improvements specified above. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
