The next item on the agenda was a referral from the City Council: Application of <br />George Marment, 403 Oak Lane, fora Conditional Use Permit under Section 11.306, <br />Ordinance No. 309, in order to add two units to an existing multiple dwelling <br />located at 187 and 195 Bernal Avenue, in a C-C District (amended application with <br />new site plan.) Mr. Falea said the applicant hae requested a continuance of this <br />matter to the meeting of November 25, 1964. <br />Afr. Falea stated that the City Council has received a communication from the County <br />Planning Department from the Church of Latter Day Sainte for recommendation regard- <br />ing an application to rezone from A-2 to R-1 a parcel of approximately 132 acres <br />located on the east eide of Hopyard Road, north of the Arroyo Mocho Canal. The <br />City Council hae passed a resolution recommending denial of the subject application. <br />After consideration by the Commission, upon motion of Commissioner Lozano, seconded <br />by Commissioner Rega, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 362 <br />RESOLVID, that this Commission urges the Alameda County Planning Commission <br />to deny the request of the Church of Latter Day Sainte to rezone <br />approximately 132 acres located on the east eide of Hopyard Road, north of <br />the Arroyo Mocho Canal, from A-2 to R-1, because said rezoning would remove <br />land from the industrial reserve indicated by the General Plan, thereby <br />destroying the industrial-residential land use balance contemplated by the <br />General Plan. <br />There being no further business to come before the Coa~ieaion, upon motion of <br />Commissioner Lozano, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, and carried, the meeting <br />was adjourned at 10:12 P.M., to meet again on Wednesday, November 25, 1964, at <br />8 P.M. <br />
