Residential Areas <br />ao additional information submitted. <br />2. Commercial Areas <br />a. Livingston acid Blayney indicated a proposed change in the General <br />Plan text relating to neighborhood shopping centers, suggesting <br />that reference to such centers being "4 to 6 acres" in size be <br />amended to read "5 to 8 acres". <br />Mr. Blayney explained that such a change would not affect the basic <br />structure or role of the neighborhood center, but would only recog- <br />nize increased off-street parking and landscaping requirements, in <br />addition to the larger-sized main elements in such centers; the <br />example provided being the increased sire of "super-markets". <br />3. Industrial Areafi <br />A letter from the General Electric Company, dated February 9, 1965, was <br />read to the Coaanission. Mr. Blayney suggested that the problem outlined <br />in the letter could be solved by inserting on the General Plan map an <br />abstract-type circle indicating some "General Industrial" use on the <br />General Electric site, bu: leaving L-he majority of the site in the <br />"Limited Industrial" category. <br />4. Community Facilities <br />a. Dr. Ray Haskell, Superintendent, Amador High School District, re- <br />quested that the high school site indicated on the Proposed General <br />Plan, dated November 5, 1964, as being located immediately north <br />of the Pine Avenue extension between Interstate Route 680 and <br />Foothill Road, be relocated to a position immediately south of the <br />Pine Avenue extension between Interstate Route 680 and Foothill Road. <br />Dr. Haskell explained his request orally co the Commission, the <br />explanation dealing basically with attendance areas and access from <br />proposed attendance areas via Pine Avenue. <br />b, Mr. Blayney and the City staff indicated that an ovezaight had <br />resulted in the omission of one public park area on the Proposed <br />General Plan dated November 5, 1964. ?'his park, already approved <br />ac ~; part of Tract Nc. 2591, is to be located east of Hopyard Road <br />and south of harvest Road, immediately adjacent tc Lhe approved <br />churcF. site for Tract No. 2591, which is ~udicated as an Institutional. <br />Use on the Proposed General Plan, and the approved swim cii,b site <br />within this tract. <br />Mr. Blayney and the City staff suggested tkie inclusion of this park <br />on the Plan. as finally adopted. <br />5.
