January 4, 1965, requested a one-year extension of Tract 2591 Tentative Map, which
area as yet has not been built upon due to the fact that this area moat remain idle
until the Arroyo del Valle Dam is completed. The communication dated February 1,
1965, requested that when the Planning Commission acted to extend the original
Tentative Map and any subsequent amendments to the original map, to include within
the extension an amendment which would increase the size of the proposed City park
from 1.6 to 2.0 acres. The letter further stated the size of the park should be
increased in order to properly lay out a play field. Mr. Fales asked the City
Attorney for his opinion as to whether the amendment should be accomplished prior
to the extension of the map or accomplished together with the extension. Mr.
Struthers recommended determining the matter of the park, followed by the extension.
Mr. Fales stated that the park would be in lieu of annexation fees. Cost breakdown
would be approximately $6,000 per acre, not counting streets; $0.30 per squaze foot
paving; $10.35 per lineal foot of street frontage. Calculations on two-acre park
would be $19,371.00. Annexation fees from Tracts 2678, 2680, etc. are estimated
to be $22,000.00 due the City, plus 30 acres for school totaling $6,000. During
the ensuing discussion, the feeling was that a two-acre park would be useful for
both the church and swim club. After reviewing the communication of February 1,
1965, from Mr. Front, and after further discussion by the Commission, upon motion
of Commissioner Lozano, seconded by Commissioner Rega, the following resolution was
adopted by unanimous vote of those Commissioners present.
