M I N U T E S <br />of <br />THE .LE?'ZNG <br />o£ <br />THE PLA>I.VI?QG CO21t4TSSI0N <br />Pleasanton, California <br />February 24, 1965 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to ordez et <br />8:00 P.M„ on Wednesday, February 24, 19G5, by Chairman Landon. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following: <br />Present: Commissioners Antonini <br />Lozano <br />Rego <br />Chairman Landon <br />Secretary Fales <br />Absent: Commissioner Johnston <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Lozano, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, the minutes <br />of the meeting of February 10, 1965, were approved ae presented by unanimous vote. <br />Chairman Landon proceeded to a discussion of lend use and zoning; Stanley Boulevard <br />East of Main Street (sequeat of Wallace Webb and Son). Mr. False, ingiving the <br />staff report, explained that the matter was referred to Livingston and Bleyney for <br />report and recommendation by letter of February 3, 1965. The reply from Livingston <br />and Blayney, dated February 17, 1965, was read by Mr. Falea, which constituted the <br />staff report and which stated that an automobile body repair shop would not be <br />permitted on the subject site under preaenL zoning, and would not be desirable on <br />the site is any event. The appropriate zoning would be C-G, General Commercial, <br />for this kind of use; however, the shop would be inconsiateat with the General Plan <br />and with the Central District Development Plan, and, therefore, rezoning to the <br />C-G District also would not be appropriate in this location. However, offices or <br />retail stores on the subject site would be consistent with the proposed General <br />Ylan. The report stated further that any commercial development on the pzoperty <br />should be arranged so that access to the buildings can be converted to the Del Valle <br />Parkway in the future, and that a variance might be considered. Mr. John Codd, <br />who was present in the audience, Baked for a clarification of "major" and "minor" <br />repair. City Attorney Struthers defined major repairs ae moat body work, and minor <br />repairs as something heavier than tune-ups. In reply to further questions by Mr. <br />Codd, Chairman Landon advised the applicant to make formal application for any <br />future consideration. Mr. Fales read the letter of inquiry from Mr. William F. Webb <br />dated January 8, 1965, on the basis of which the staff requested a report from the <br />City's coneultanta, and stated that ae of the present time no formal application <br />hoe been made. <br />The next item on the agenda was a request for one-year time extension; Tract No. <br />2595 (Amador Eatatea). Mr. Alan Campbell stated that the final map has been filed <br />on two portions of Tract No. 2595, erd this request is for a time extension for <br />the remainder of the subject tract. After consideration by the Commission, upon <br />motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, the following <br />resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of those Commissioners present: <br />RESOLUT~fON NO. 391 <br />WHEREAS, the request for a one-year time extension; Tract No. 2595 (Amador <br />Estates) hoe come before Chia Commission; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />ABSOLVED, that the City Planning Commission hereby reco~enda to the <br />City Council that the above-named extension to March 11, 1966, <br />be granted. <br />The next item on the agenda was a referral from Alameda County re: Request fos <br />Catholic Cemetery, Vallecitos Road, which matter was continued from February 10, <br />1965.
