Mr. Campbell read a letter from William H. Fraley, Alameda County Planning Director, <br />dated June 21, 1965, stating that the names "Murphy" and "Marietta" would be con- <br />sidered for the Pine St, extension on July 7, 1965. The City of Livermore is pro- <br />posing "Skyway Blvd." to replace the formerly proposed '7.as Positas Blvd." name. <br />The name "Alameda" or "The Alameda" was briefly discussed. The Commission was not <br />positive in its reaction to any suggested names. It was requested that this matter <br />also be referred to the Chamber of Commerce along with "Schween" St. previously <br />referred for the new street west of and parallel to Main St. If no action or <br />favorable names are suggested, the Commission desires that the Alameda County <br />Planning Commission be informed that Las Positas Boulevard is still their prefer- <br />ence. <br />Commissioner Rega brough up the matter of a draft of a Proposed Street Name Policy, <br />dated June 15, 1965, which had been distributed to the Commission, and asked for <br />comments. Several additions were suggested. The Street Name Policy will be <br />finalized and brought back to Che Commission for approval. <br />Chairman Landon inquired regarding the matter of the referral by the City Council <br />to the Planning Commission of the First SC. rezoning appeal. It was concluded <br />that the staff would put this matter on the agenda for the meeting of July 14, 1965. <br />Chairman Landon, on behalf of the Commisaion~ expressed to Mrs. Jensen the Commis- <br />sion's appreciation of her secretarial serviced during the past three years, and <br />extended to her their good wishes for the future. <br />There being no further business to come before the Commission, upon motion of <br />Commissioner Lozano, seconded by Chairman Landon, and carried, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 10:15 P.M., to meet again on Wednesday, July 14, 1965, at 8:00 P.M. <br />
