1. Under the City Zoning Ordinance, if the subject area were within
the City, the proposed sign would not coafosm in either an Agri.
cultural or a Residential Zoning District, since only signs
necessary for a permitted use upon the subject property are
permitted in those districts.
2. In addition, the Commission felt that no justification exists
for extending the dubious practice of locating many large
advertiziag signs along U.S, Highway 50 to Che intersecting
streets, especially when these signs do not pertain in any
way to the property upon which they are located.
The next two referrals, C-1565 and C-1572, were applications of the Rancho Del
Charro and Roy H. Ksuae to locate farm labor camps in the Pleasanton Area. The
Planning Commission, after a review of these matters, recommended approval of both
applications, with the suggestion that a reasonable time limit be placed upon both
applications ae a condition of approval.
Mr. Falea proposed a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute Zoning
Permit Agreements and other agreements that have become necessary setting forth
specific conditions of the legislation. Upon motion of Chairmen Landon, seconded
by Comaissioner Antonini, the following resolution wee adopted by unanimous vote.
RESOLUTION N0. 460
The Planning Commiaslon approved the recommendation by the staff
authorizing the City Manager to execute the necessary agreements
that are required ae a result of the conditions set forth in the
legislation, and that it is recommended that the City Council take
the appropriate action to implement this resolution.
The next item on the agenda was a Study Seaeion of the new tentative subdivision map
on Vintage Hills. Ted Fairfield, of MacKay and Sompa, explained the map and the
various changes that had been made. There had been some changes since the last
review; namely, more houses and lees commercial. Mr. False indicated that in order
to comply with tbs proper procedures, a new Tentative Map should be submitted and
acted upon. CA,aitmaa Landon suggested that a study session be held ae soon ae the
new Tentative lFsln was received.
There being no further busioRas to come before the Commission, upon motion of
Co~niseioner Antonini, seconded. by Commissioner Johnston, and carried, the meeting
was adjourned at I1: 15 P,M,, to meet again on Wednesday, September 22, 1965, at
8:00 P.M.
