MINUTE S <br />of <br />THE PLANNING COIMIISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />June 12, 1967 <br />'"he special meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at 5:10 P.M. <br />on Monday, June 12, 1967, by Chairman Antonini. <br />Roll Call showed the following: <br />Present Commissioner Arnold <br /> Garrigan <br /> Plato <br />Chairman Antonini <br />Secretary Spink <br />Absent Commissioner Johnston <br />3(a) RZ-67-4. Volk McLain Communities. <br />This item was a referral from the City Council requesting a review and report <br />on a proposed change to the Planning Commission recommendation on EZ-67-4. <br />tor. Spink presented the staff report which recommended that the Planning <br />Co®isaion report back that either alternate was acceptable but declaring a <br />preference for the alternative which would eliminate the C-N zoning south <br />of Los Positas Boulevard. A general discussion followed. <br />Mr. Hoffman of San Ramon Engineers discussed the logic of the additional site, <br />stating that additional evidence guaranteeing the station would be available <br />from the oil company. Also commented that the total proposed commercial zoning <br />was three acres less than that granted in the County. <br />Commissioner Garrigan expressed concern that a service station on the corner <br />would effect the salability of the "A" zone area for an institutional use. <br />Further general discussion followed. <br />Mr. Ken Volk arrived and made a presentation on the desirable features of the <br />site. <br />Commissioner Plato discussed the letters of intent. <br />Chairman Antonini indicated the possibility of an "A" zone and a re-evaluation <br />at a later time when a better judgment could be made. <br />Commissioner Garrigan expressed a preference for deleting the second service <br />station site. <br />Commissioner Arnold preferred to stay with the original recommendation. <br />A discussion of the timing and of freeway interchange development followed. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Plato, seconded by Commissioner Arnold and carried, <br />it was determined that this matter be referred back to the City Council <br />stating that both alternatives were acceptable but expressing a preference for <br />the original Planning Commission recommendation. <br />There being no further business to come before the Commission, upon motion <br />of Chairman Antonini and seconded by Commissioner Garrigan and carried, the <br />meeting was adjourned at 5:55 P.M., to meet again on June 14, 1967, at 8:00 P.M. <br />ecre ry <br />~_~^-~7 <br />
