M I N U T E S <br />of <br />Planning Commission <br />Pleasanton, California <br />November 1, 1967 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to <br />order at S:)4 P.M., [niednesday, November 1, 1967, by Chairman Antonini. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following: <br />Present: Commissioner Garrigan <br />Gibbs <br />Chairman Antonini <br />Secretary Castro <br />Absent: Co®iseioner Arnold <br />Plato <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Chairman Antonini, and carried, <br />the minutes of October 25, 1961, were approved as presented by unanimous vote. <br />4a. $2-67-11, Planning Commission. <br />Chairman Antonini re-opened the public hearing which was continued from Sep- <br />tember 13, 1967, and October 19, 1967. <br />Article 2. Site, yards, bulk, etc. (applicable portions) Commercial Development <br />Section 2,11.6. Mr. Dudley Frost stated he felt that the five percent land- <br />scaping requested would be excessive. It was determined to study the percentage <br />of landscaping on the Amador Center in Pleasanton, as well as other shopping <br />center sites. Balance of Article 2 remained unchanged. <br />Article 6 - 0 Office District. <br />Section 6.103.d. Mr. Castro informed the Commission that this section was <br />being revised pursuant to a meeting with P. G. & E. The City Attorney and Mr. <br />Castro are working on a revision to be euba,itted to the Commission. Balance <br />of Article 6 ruined unchanged. <br />Article 7 C Commercial Dtatrict. <br />Remained unchanged. <br />Article LO P Public Institutional District <br />Remained unchanged. <br />Article 15 Off-street Parking <br />Section 15.102.2. Mr. Frost stated that perhaps one parking space for each <br />18) square feet of gross floor area was excessive. No changes were made. <br />Section 15.LJ3.a. Parking space width, perpendicular to angle. Delete the <br />8'6" and 8 7'= 'widths and insert 9' widths throughout. <br />Article 1G Off-Street Loading <br />Remained unchanged. <br />Article 17 Signs <br />There was considerable dissuasion pertaining to free-standing signs for service <br />stations. <br />Section 17.1O5.a. Shall be changed to read: "shall not exceed a total of 8) <br />square feet, 36 square feet may be allowed for a free-standing sign and 44 <br />square feet for other signing. No signs shall exceed 12 feet in height. <br />section 17.1O5.g and h; Section 17_1?6.a, b and c; Section 17.1)7.b and d; <br />in each instance where the words "not directly" appear, these shall be changed <br />to read "diffused or indirect lighting". <br />Section 17.1)8, Temporary Subdivision Signs. <br />It was determined that this section should be reviewed relative to number of <br />signs for subdivisions, as well as how many on-site and off-site signs should <br />be allowed . <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Chairman Antonini, and calledS..~L:/,% <br />the meeting was adjourned at 1):25 P.M. to meet on Wedgea~,_ ~ 8, ~~/ <br />7` - re...,..~ <br />/ Secretary <br />L <br />
