MINUTE S <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />Multi-Purpose Room - Valley View School <br />480 Adams <br />August I4, 1968 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order <br />by Chairman Antonini at 8:10 PM, Wednesday, August 14, 1968. <br />1. ROLL CALL <br />PRESENT: Commissioner Arnold <br />Commissioner Carrigan <br />Commissioner Gibbs <br />Commissioner Plato <br />Chairman Antonini <br />Secretary Castro <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Approval of the Minutes of the meeting of July 24, 1968, was deferred pending <br />correction to show the name of Commissioner who makes motion for a resolution <br />and the name of Commissioner who seconds the motion for a resolution. This <br />also applies to opening and closing of Public Hearings. This was noted by <br />the Secretary and will be strictly adhered to in all future Minutes. <br />3. MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE PLANNING COMMISSION. <br />4. REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />New Business <br />Item 6c. Z-68-48 Bank of America NT & SA <br />o a low erection of a sign between the Bank building and the Bank parking <br />lot at 530 Main Street, Pleasanton. <br />5. OLD BUSINESS <br />a. G.P.A. 68-1, Planning Commission <br />Application of the Planning Commission, City of Pleasanton, for an amend- <br />ment to the General Plan, said amendment to include the following land use <br />study, circulation study and major approved development: <br />4. Zoning modification to that land fronting on the east side of <br />Foothill Road between Foothill Forma and the intersection of <br />Castlewood Road and Foothill Road. <br />5. Land use study of areas along east side of Sunol Boulevard from <br />the freeway interchange north to Mission Drive. <br />Chairman Antonini opened the Public Hearing. This continuance was at the <br />request of several property owners, chiefly Mr. William Gale, who wished <br />to appear before the Commission to express concern over changes. Also, <br />there was a letter from a Mr. Nahas to Mr. Fales, objecting to any change <br />other than now stated in the General Plan. <br />Referring to No. 4, this is the area south of Foothill Farms being <br />developed by Shulte-Blackwell, extending south from Bernal to the Castle- <br />wood Golf Course. Concerning any land use changes on Sunol Boulevard, <br />Mr. Castro stated that he felt the Planning Commission should defer any <br />recommendations pending review by the Citizens ReIItow Committee, and would <br />also like for the Commission to honor the request of Mr. Nahas. The <br />Planning Director felt: *hat there were many other factors that needed to <br />be made known before a decision could be made, as Foothill is scheduled <br />to be a main thoroug~fare and the Commission should also look into the <br />ultimate improvement plans for Foothill Road. <br />- 1 - <br />
