CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-491 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SETTT~MENT OF <br /> WORKERS COMPENSATION CLAIMS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is now pending before the Workers <br /> Compensation Appeals Board two cases involving two <br /> City employees, namely Cornell Holmes and Vicente <br /> Castro; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City's workers compensation claims <br /> administrator has requested authority from the City <br /> Council to settle these claims in amounts more <br /> fully discussed in the memorandum dated November 7, <br /> 1989 from the Director of Personnel to the City <br /> Attorney; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such authority is reasonable and justified under <br /> the circumstances; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Attorney is authorized to settle the two <br /> above-mentioned cases in amounts not to exceed that <br /> requested by the Director of Personnel. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON, AT A MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 21, 1989 BY THE <br />FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver and <br /> Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br /> Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />~ichael H.
