CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-453 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ALLOCATINGEARTHQUAKE RELIEF <br /> FUNDS TO THE CITIES OF WATSONVILLE, SANTA <br /> CRUZ AND LOS GATOS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on October 17, 1989, the cities of Watsonville, <br /> Santa Cruz and Los Gatos incurred severe damage and <br /> loss of life from a major earthquake which struck <br /> the area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, WHEREAS, the citizens of Pleasanton have been <br /> fortunate in that damages incurred here were <br /> relatively minor; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council would like to express its support <br /> and sympathy for the citizens of these <br /> communities; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council authorizes allocation of the sum <br /> of $10,000 to be contributed to the Earthquake <br /> Relief Funds of each of the cities of Watsonville, <br /> Santa Cruz, and Los Gatos. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON, AT A MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 31, 1989 BY THE <br />FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver, and <br /> Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br /> Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />Michael H.
