CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-451 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR <br /> LANDSCAPING DEL V~T~ PARKWAY MEDIAN <br /> ISLANDS AND POSTPONING TRAFFIC SIGNAL <br /> INSTAT~ATION AT VALLEY AVENUE AND VIA DE <br /> LOS MILAGROS/PASEO SANTA CRUZ UNTIL 1990- <br /> 1991 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of October 31, 1989, Council <br /> reviewed the reports of the Director of Public <br /> Works and Utilities (IR 89:74 and SR 89:442) <br /> regarding the landscaping for Del Valle Parkway <br /> median islands and the proposed installation of a <br /> traffic signal at the intersection of Valley Avenue <br /> and Via de los Milagros/Paseo Santa Cruz; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due to increasing concerns over the unsightliness <br /> of the median islands on Del Valle Parkway, it was <br /> deemed necessary to make immediately improvements <br /> in this area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it was determined by Council that the traffic <br /> signal at the intersection of Valley Avenue and Via <br /> de los Milagros/Paseo Santa Cruz, although <br /> important and necessary for the future, was not of <br /> immediate need. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council authorizes transfer of $175,000 <br /> allocated to Project No. 885081, traffic signal at <br /> the intersection of Valley Avenue and Via de los <br /> Milagros/Paseo Santa Cruz, to the landscaping of <br /> the median island on Del Valle Parkway. <br /> <br />Section 2: The funds to be used for replacement of <br /> landscaping damaged by MJB Construction, Inc. <br /> during the Cross-Town Sewer project construction, <br /> shall also be applied to the median island <br /> landscaping improvements. <br /> <br />Section 3: The above-described traffic signal installation <br /> shall be included in the Capital Improvement Budget <br /> for 1990-91. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
