CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-427 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION DETERMINING NOT TO PURCHASE <br /> KAISER BUILDING ON SUNOL BOULEVARD <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due to overcrowded conditions in the present Civic <br /> Center buildings, it was proposed that the City <br /> purchase the Kaiser Building on Sunol Boulevard and <br /> relocate City Hall to that facility; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council held public hearings on this proposal, <br /> at which members of the public presented testimony <br /> regarding the proposed relocation of City Hall; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council determines that the Civic Center <br /> should remain in its general, present location and <br /> thereby decides not to purchase the Kaiser Building <br /> on Sunol Boulevard. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City Manager shall notify Kaiser <br /> representatives of this decision and convey the <br /> City Council's appreciation for giving the City the <br /> opportunity to study and consider this proposal. <br /> <br />Section 3: The City Manager shall present a further report <br /> to the City Council concerning alternatives for a <br /> City Hall complex, at which time the C~ty Council <br /> will give further direction. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
