Draft 14. Subregional Planning Element <br />of Pleasanton obtain water supplies from the City and County of San Francisco. (See the Water <br />Element for additional discussion of these regional water-supply, storage, and transport issues.l <br />Zone 7 stores water from both the South Bay Aqueduct and local runoff in the Del Valle Reservoir, <br />and then uses this water to replenish groundwater supplies through release into the Arroyo del Valle <br />and Arroyo Mocho. To enhance the reliability of water supply during drought periods, Zone 7 has <br />purchased additional groundwater storage. Zone 7 plans to fund from water connection fees <br />additional water supply treatment conveyance storage and groundwater recharge and extraction <br />facilities. In addition over the next 20 years Zone 7 plans to replace or improve its existing system. <br />Providing adequate, sustainable water fox planned growth is a major <br />subregional issue that~ill requires continuin planning_coordination, growth management, <br />and cooperative efforts to obtain additional supplies-irr-~-tnat~r~er that will meet future agricultural, <br />urban, and environmental needs. <br />Wastewater Treatment and Disposal <br />The Dublin San Ramon Services District and <br />the City of Livermore~xovide wastewater treatment and disposal in the Tri-Valley area. ~'rexted <br />> , <br />The Livermore-Amador Valley Water <br />Management Agency (LAVWMA) exports treated wastewater by way of its pipeline from the Tri- <br />Valley area to San Francisco Bay_. <br />. A Lt1VWMA expansion <br />proiect has now been completed. Pleasanton the Dublin-San Ramon Services District and Livermore <br />plan to share the allocated expansion increment among them; which should accommodate their wet- <br />weathex flows for manv future vears. See the Wastewater section of the Water Element for additional <br />discussion of regional wastewater issues. <br />• , <br />Hydrology and Water Quality <br />The Tri-Valley area lies within the greater Alameda Creek watershed <br />mainly within the Zone 7 service area. Three major cast-west arroyos -Arroyo las Positas Arroyo <br />Mocho (which includes water from Tassajara Creek, and Arroyo del Valle -encompass the general <br />drainage pattern of the watershed.
