1 <br />THE CITY Of <br />j~L£~S~4NTONo CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />June 19, 2007 <br />Public Works Department <br />TITLE: APPROVAL OF ON-CALL CONSULTANT CONTRACTS FOR <br />GEOTECHNICAL AND MATERIAL TESTING SERVICES WITH THE FIRMS <br />OF CONSTRUCTION TESTING SERVICES, BSK ASSOCIATES AND <br />ENGEOINCORPORATED <br />SUMMARY <br />The City has an ongoing need for a firm to provide on-call geotechnical and material <br />testing services. City staff sent Request for Qualifications (RFQ's) to eight local firms <br />from the City's existing database for geotechnical and testing services. Five firms <br />provided statements of qualifications. City staff reviewed the qualifications and selected <br />three firms to be interviewed. Based on the firms' qualifications, interviews, and <br />references, staff is recommending that City Council approve contracts with the firms of <br />Construction Testing Services, BSK Associates, and ENGEO Inc. for services between <br />July 1, 2007, and June 30, 2010. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve consultant contracts with Construction Testing Services, BSK Associates, <br />and ENGEO Inc. to provide on-call geotechnical and material testing services in the <br />total aggregate amount not-to-exceed $450,000 between July 1, 2007, and June 30, <br />2010. <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached contracts. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />No additional funding is needed to approve these consultant contracts. Funding for <br />these contracts is already budgeted under each individual capital improvement project <br />previously approved by City Council. <br />
