CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-371 <br /> <br /> REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO <br /> EUGENE G. ALVES CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, <br /> INC., FOR PARKING LOT AND PATHWAY <br /> IMPROVEMENTS FOR CIVIC CENTER AND <br /> KOTTINGER PLACE, PROJECT NO. 897041 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for <br /> Parking Lot and Pathway Improvements for Civic <br /> Center and Kottinger Place, Project No. 897041; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 37900, et <br /> seq., the city Engineering Services Division <br /> advertised for bids regarding this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on <br /> September 5, 1989; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Eugene G. Alves Construction Company, <br /> Inc., in the amount of $75,207.10 was determined to <br /> be the lowest responsible bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Utilities <br /> recommended that the bid of Eugene G. Alves <br /> Construction Company, Inc. be accepted; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The bid of Eugene G. Alves Construction Company, <br /> Inc., in the amount of $75,207.10, for Pathway <br /> Improvements for Civic Center and Kottinger Place, <br /> Project No. 897041, is hereby accepted by the City <br /> Council as the lowest responsible bid. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City Manager is authorized to execute a <br /> contract with Eugene G. Alves Construction Company, <br /> Inc. for the improvements specified above. <br /> <br />Section 3: Authorizes an appropriation of $25,000 from the <br /> General Fund. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
