AHENDHENT N0.5 _ 'CITY OF PLEASANTON AND CH2N HILL AUTHORIZATION OF EXTRA SERVICES -- FOR THE FINAL DESIGN OF THE ' HACIENDA DRIVE/I-580 INTERCHANGE 1. Purpose: The purpose of the AMENDMENT is to recognize and accept work performed by the CONSULTANT which is outside the project scope of services and to authorize and direct the CONSULTANT to proceed with additional work, both as specified in Item 2 of this AMENDMENT, and in accor- dance with the provisions of Article 1 of the AGREEMENT between the parties hereto dated December 1, 1987. 2. Scope of Work: The work authorized by this AMENDMENT is described in the "Scope of Services" attached hereto as Exhibit 5-A. 3. Time of Performance: The work in Exhibit 5-A, described in Tasks 1 and 2, was started by the CONSULTANT in April 1989 and will be completed with the initial work estimated for October 1989. The CONSULTANT'S utility coordination work, des- cribed in Task 3, is a continuation of that work des- cribed in Amendment No. 2 and will be completed with the other work in October 1989. Work on the Demolition Contract described in Task 4 started in May 1989 with an estimated completion date of September 1989. The CONSULTANT started the above-scheduled work at the express direction of the CITY staff in the course of the overall project work. It is recognized by both parties to this AMENDMENT that this schedule and es- timated cost to perform the work remaining is dependent on actions by others and may require adjustment by separate amendment to conform to changes beyond control of the CITY and the CONSULTANT. 4. Compensation and Payment: Compensation for the CONSULTANT'S services authorized by this AMENDMENT shall be on a "Fixed Fee" basis for TASKS 1, 2, 4, and 5, and on a "Labor and Expense" basis for TASK 3 as provided in Article 2 of the AGREE- MENT.
