RESOLUTION N0.07-113 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATION (USED OIL RECYCLING BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION) TO THE CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act that provides funds to cities and counties for establishing and maintaining local used oil collection programs that encourage recycling or appropriate disposal of used oil; and WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the state; and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton will enter into an agreement with the State of California for implementation of a used oil collection program; and WHEREAS, that submission of an ongoing waste oil block grant application to educate and assist residents in the proper disposal of waste oil and filters will continue; and WHEREAS, that the Used Oil Recycling Block Grant Program is funded by oil consumers in California and is administered by the California Integrated Waste Management Board and the Used Oil Grant will be managed by the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department; and WHEREAS, that on May 15, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pleasanton Council Chambers, 200 Old Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton, the City Council considered the application for the above waste oil block grant. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. The City Council authorizes the submittal of an application to the California Integrated Waste Management Board fora 2007/2008 Used Oil Recycling Block Grant. SECTION 2. The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to execute all necessary applications, contracts, payment requests, agreements and amendments for the purposes of securing grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application. SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a regular meeting held on May 15, 2007.
