ACTIA Bicycle/Pedestrian Countywide Discretionary Fund Program ACTIA No. A07-0012 Cycle 3 Grant Funding Agreement ATTACHMENT A PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND TASK BREAKDOWN Project Sponsor: City of Pleasanton Project Title: Pleasanton Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan ACTIA Project Number: A07-0012 Grant Notice to Proceed Date: July 1, 2007 Total ACTIA Funds Awarded to Project: $ 111,000 Total Project Cost: $ 111,000 Project Sponsor Matching Funds: Amount Source $0 NA Percentage: Total ACTIA Funds Awarded to Project/Total Project Cost: 100.0 Project Description: In general, the Project consists of preparing a pedestrian and bicycle master plan for the City of Pleasanton as described in the project application submitted by the Project Sponsor to ACTIA. Specifically, the Project will develop a Plan that covers the entire city of Pleasanton and includes: • a survey of existing pedestrian and bicycle facilities, • review of existing planning and policy documents, • analysis of needed improvements for connectivity and safety, ^ setting of goals, policies, and objectives, • education and encouragement programs to promote walking and biking, • detailed, prioritized recommendations for projects to be undertaken, ^ implementation plan including schedule, estimated costs, and analysis of funding sources, and • design guidelines. The Master Plan will include all the elements of an effective Pedestrian Plan, as described in the "Toolkit for Improving Walkability in Alameda County". The Sponsor will ensure that the Master Plan is compatible with the coutywide birycle and pedestrian plans. Special emphasis will be placed on improving walkability in areas of countywide significance such as transit centers and activity centers. The City will form a Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, consisting of local residents, to provide input on the Master Plan development. Additionally, several community meetings will be held to obtain public input, and the Sponsor will coordinate with neighboring jurisdictions.
