Do not require trees to be planted where they
would impact the ability of photovoltaic panels to convert sunlight into
electricity.
Program 4.3: Reduce heat gain and air-conditioning demand by installing
light-colored paving material in roads in new developments and in roads being
replaced when feasible.
Policy 5: Reduce electricity and natural gas demand by entering into partnerships with
businesses.
Program 5.1: Consider entering into partnerships that would improve energy
conservation and/or increase energy efficiency.
Policy 6: Preserve and strengthen the City's green building policies and regulations.
Program 6.1: Better educate the public about green building opportunities.
Page 8
April 19, 2005
