4y~,~-sANToy <br />CITY of PLEASANTON <br />~ ~ '~~ • <br />,° <br />~~°+ Planning Commission <br />~rr~° s <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />DGte : January 12, 1971 <br />Time : 8:2s PM <br />Pia ce: Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Mr. Yackley further advised that Alameda <br />County is coming out with a new set of <br />specifications as to how debris will be <br />buried. He has been requested by the Count; <br />to submit a grading plan for his proposed <br />operation as to the cut and fill, which he <br />will comply with when he receives the new <br />specifications from them. <br />Mr. Don Redgwicke spoke in favor of this <br />application. He is a_ superintendent and <br />contractor and spoke of the prohibitive cost <br />of hauling debris to the dump site in <br />Livermore, which is an added cost to the <br />developer and homeowner. <br />Judge William Gale, 62 West Neal Street, <br />spoke for the owners of the Kottinger <br />Ranch and Mr. Doug Safreno, another owner <br />of property on Vineyard Avenue in the <br />vicinity of the proposed dump operation. <br />Judge Gale, on behalf of the owners, express <br />concern over this proposed operation, and <br />that the Commission not recommend approval <br />of it to the County. <br />Another gentleman who spoke against this <br />operation was Mr. Bud Martin, who owned <br />property immediately adjacent to the site. <br />Mr. Joe Schwab, attorney representing the <br />Pleasanton Garbage Co., who is currently <br />operating a franchise business with the <br />City on contract, spoke against this propo <br />Mr. Schwab described to the Commission the <br />plans the present franchise operator has <br />for serving the City of Pleasanton, which <br />includes a transfer station when needed. <br />He did indicate that the City of Livermore <br />will guarantee a contract with Pleasanton <br />for a 40-year period for a capacity of <br />500 tons per day. Therefore, there is a <br />span of 70 years before this arrangement <br />will be terminated. <br />- 8 - <br />
