The basis for the drainage is <br />to protect him from liability, Compliance <br />with drainage conditions is one more attempt <br />to comply with Mr. Grotenhuis. ~s fa.r as Y <br />!{now' the Building Department has not in- <br />spected with respect to the drainage problem <br />Vice-Chairman Pons was not sure from the St <br />Report where we stand. Nor. Grotenhuis, he <br />felt, was game-playing. Re should not come <br />in on a. Fridr:..y <..fternoon ~,nd expect the <br />Fl~~.nning St~~ff to be zble to conduct ~. full <br />scale inspection. <br />The floor was open for remarks, There were <br />none and the Public Renting w«s closed. <br />The Commission discussed the question before <br />them. The stop-work order was based upon <br />the non-compliance in other areas and wGs <br />not to be lifted until the applicant <br />corrected pest infractions. There was a <br />stop-work order issued and work proceded <br />anyway. Vice-Chairman Pons tasked the City <br />~ttarney what recourse the City has, and <br />Mr. Hirst replied that the alternatives <br />are (1) <~ cita.tion procedure from the <br />District Attorney, (2) misdemeanor proceedin <br />through the local court, and (3) the Supreme <br />Court far injunctive relief, <br />Commissioner Hirst <.sked the City attorney <br />if the City passes it without the dr<ainage <br />requirement, it the City liable? The City <br />attorney replied in the negative as the <br />Building, Department husn~t inspected yet, <br />Commissioner 1~ood remarked that if we do <br />issue a eitG.tion, we should be sure of our <br />ground. <br />The City attorney recommended that the matt <br />be put over to give the City a change to gi <br />a full inspection.
