D afie August 24, 1971 Time ; s:lo PM PIaCe: Pleasanton Justice Court the Commissioner's packets were not complete and they could not make an evaluation this evening. Dr. Long addressed the Commission. He state that even a two week continuance would cost the residents of Pleasanton Greens $44,000. He stated that they have everything that the Commission would want and they are very happ with the staff report. Chairman Garrigan stated that with the information they have, the Commission is not ready to make a decision and he then moved t this matter be continued until the next regular meeting. This motion was seconded by Commissioner Pons. At this point Dr. Long again interjected a few comments. He said that they understood that their submitt would be sufficient and said that a continua would penalize the project. Commissioner Hirst requested that the public hearing be reopened in the hope that at least some progress could be made. Chairman Garrigan disagreed by saying that it would not be fair as it will waste the applicant's and the Commission's time if we are going to have to continue the matter anyway and it would be better to discuss it in full when it is rescheduled. Rather than be pressured into making a decision he stated that he would rather call for the vote on the continuance. The vote was taken with Com- missioners Hirst and Wood voting no, and all other Commissioner's voting aye. The matter was continued until the next regular meeting. Commissioner Wood made a statement explaining his vote. He felt that the advance public notice which brought so many people to the meeting made it a difficult decision. t e - 5 -
