M. <br />PIGCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />REZONING Planning Commission - Holly Sugar - <br />RZ-71-4, Denied to rezone from the A (Agricultural) <br />Res. No. 1124 District to the P (Public and Insti- <br />tutional) District, that property <br />described as Parcel 5, Block 1151, <br />Book 946 of the Alameda County <br />Assessor's Office. Property generally <br />located paralleling the south side of <br />the Southern Pacific Railroad in the <br />vicinity of the intersection of Santa <br />Rita Road and Mohr Avenue, containing <br />3.78 ac., more or less. <br />Mr. Castro in reviewing this matter, <br />stated that Council was referring thi: <br />matter back to the Planning Commission <br />at the request of the applicant Holly <br />Sugar. <br />John Corley, representing Holly Sugar <br />was present and told the Commission <br />that this is a unique piece of proper <br />ty as it has a railroad side track. <br />And suggested that this could provide <br />for industrial possibilities to the <br />City and Holly Sugar Company. <br />r. John Cooper, Associate Council fog <br />olly Sugar was also present and <br />oted that at the Council's public <br />eari ng <br />Mr. Castro told the Commission that <br />he would not favor leaving this <br />:toning in abeyance for any kind of <br />development when it is next to a <br />Public and Institutional District. <br />Chairman Carrigan stated that he was <br />not aware of the railroad siding on <br />the property. <br />Commissioner Pons entered a resolu- <br />tion to deny the rezoning, this was <br />seconded by Commissioner Pereira and <br />carried unanimously. <br />Resolution <br />Seconded: <br />Ayes <br />
