4y~AS"N~°y CITY of PLEASANTdN <br />~ •~/ . ~ <br />.~ <br />`~~~° Planning Commission <br />xwso t <br />I MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />D Ot8 December 14, 1971 <br />Time : 8:00 PM <br />PIGCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />CO~BrIUNICATION Mr. Castro reported that he received a <br />letter from Mr. Dole of Franklin Savings <br />and Loan requesting the opening of their <br />new facility to be on January 3rd. <br />The Commission felt that an opening should <br />not be allowed before completion of <br />improvements and landscaping. This decision <br />was left to the staff to determine. <br />TENTATIVE MAP <br />Tent. Tract 3161 H. C. Elliott, Inc. - Tentative Tract 3161 esolution: <br />Approved econded: <br />Res. No. 1145 Mr. Castro explained that at the Mayor's yes: <br />meeting in Pleasanton Meadows the residents oes: <br />expressed concern regarding the development§ bsent: <br />traffic circulation patterns. Upon request bstain: <br />of the Mayor and Council, the Commission is <br />supposed to review the entire circulation <br />system and report back to the Council. <br />In presenting the circulation patterns for <br />the Pleasanton Meadow's development and the <br />Elliott Tentative Subdivision, Mr. Castro <br />pointed out to the Planning Commission that <br />the question of whether or not Fairlands <br />Drive should be extended was discussed at <br />length at staff meetings prior to the <br />approval of said tentative map; that in the <br />staff's opinion the circulation pattern is <br />still valid in that it is important to <br />connect residential areas with one another <br />for purposes of fire and police protection. <br />That in this particular case the greatest <br />emphasis should be placed on the fact that <br />if Fairlands Drive is not extended, the use <br />of the elementary school which is on the <br />Pleasanton Meadows property will result in <br />in a longer walking distance for the <br />children of those developments. <br />Mr. Castro further explained to the Commiss <br />that from the standpoint of providing direc <br />access to the freeway to a major shopping <br />center and the central part of Pleasanton, <br />X <br />XIXIXIX <br />- 8 - <br />
