No. 1151 interfere with the plans for demolition and would afford the downtown a building that would not be vacant. Public Works Director Alan Campbell confirm a question of the Commission by reminding t that this building was scheduled for demolition as it does not meet the building requirements. Mr. Castro reported that the applicant has submitted preliminary plans for review of staff in order to meet :.requirements of the City. The Commission, as a whole, felt that this request should be denied as the applicant has already been given one time extension and the building does not meet City Stands Commissioner Hirst entered a motion to deny said request. This was seconded and approv with all voting aye, with the exception of the no vote by Commissioner Pons. Tentative Tract 3375, Mackay Homes, Inc. Mr. Castro gave a brief outline of the area to be considered. In response, Mr. Campbel discussed some aspects of the map that are of concern to the Public Works Dept. Because of the planned future freeway over- crossing, the 11 lots fronting on Hansen Drive are highly undesirable and suggested that these lots be eliminated and the stree between Paseo Santa Cruz and Arroyo de.la Laguna be constructed without access and the lots be backed up to it. Mr. Campbell also suggested that in regard to the croas- section of Valley Avenue the developer shou be obligated to provide public improvements in lieu of the sidewalk eliminated on the southeast side of Valley Avenue.
