Absent: <br /> Abstain: <br /> The Public Hearing was opened. <br /> There were no comments regarding the <br /> staff report other than the Commis- <br /> sion supported the findings as noted <br /> therein. <br /> The applicant was not present. <br /> The Public Hearing was closed. <br /> A resolution was offered by Commis- <br /> sioner Pereira, seconded by Commis- <br /> sioner Pons and carried, denying <br /> this application. <br />MATTERS FOR Review of policy as set forth by the <br />COMMISSION'S City to restrict savings and loan <br />REVIEW institutions to the Central Business <br /> District. <br /> A meeting was held between Mr. Castro , <br /> Chairman Carrigan and Councilman <br /> Herlihy with Mr. Richard Polli, head <br /> of the Savings and Loan Commission <br /> in Northern California. <br /> At that meeting it was determined <br /> that Mr. Polli felt that savings and <br /> loan institutions should be located <br /> where heavy generation of traffic <br /> exists . It was his feeling that the <br /> C.B.D, could not justify two savings <br /> and loan institutions, and that if <br /> another institution is to be located <br /> in Pleasanton, it would have to be in <br /> a shopping center. This, of course, <br /> is contrary to the City's present pol icy <br /> on savings and loan institutions. <br /> -4 - <br />
