CITY of PLEASANTON <br />Plor~ning Commission <br />MINUT~SS ~pF REGUE,.AR MEETING. ~~ ~~ <br />Dafe t August 8, 1973 \\\ \ <br />Time : 8:05 P.M. \\\\ <br />p~pQgZ Pleasanton Justice Court ~~~~ <br />determine how much the applicant should pay <br />in fees, whether it be all at one time or <br />over a period of years. <br />It was the consensus of feeling that the <br />party to profit the most from the establish- <br />ment of this in-lieu parking arrangement <br />would be the merchants and/or property <br />owners. <br />VARIANCE REQUEST <br />V-73-27, Denied, <br />Res. 1252 <br />Next, Ms. Gail Olson spoke. She is an inter <br />for designer, self-employed in the City. He: <br />position was one of encouragement of passage <br />of the ordinance, since the City is in des- <br />perate need of establishing some sort of <br />parking requirements for the downtown area. <br />Mr. Bras spoke again, reiterating that work <br />has been done in the downtown and it was his <br />opinion that the City's best chances would <br />be to breathe some life into the core area. <br />Mr. Joseph Schwab spoke indicating that he <br />felt this matter should be continued for <br />further review. <br />Commissioner Garrigan confirmed from the <br />City Attorney that affirmative action by the <br />Commission, would merely mean that the <br />matter would be referred to Council for a <br />final decision. ~ <br />The Public Hearing was then closed. <br />A resolution was then entered by Commissione <br />Pereira, seconded by Commissioner McLain, an <br />carried, approving the proposed ordinance <br />amendment. This resolution passed unanimous y. <br />Application of J. Jack Bras/Jerry Bindi for Resolution: <br />a variance to Sec. 2-9.16, Article 16, Seconded: <br />Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of Ayes: <br />the City of Pleasanton to allow construction Noes: <br />of a restaurant with less than the required Absent: <br />parking spaces at 348 St. Mary Street.
