CITY of PLEASANTpN
Planning Commission
MINUTE~1
Date ; '
Time ;
Plaae~
~qF REGU`_AR MEETING,
December 12, 1973
8:08 P.M.
Pleasanton Justice Court
accomplished this spring. He ex-
plained that the weather has not
been conducive to completion of the
project.
Commissioner McLain suggested that
that portion going south where it
narrows down and the road drops off
be given special consideration and
reflectors be placed so a motorist
knows how far he is away from the
shoulder of the road.
Commissioner Carrigan noted that the
"No Parking" signs on Vineyard Ave-
nue has greatly alleviated the
traffic problems that existed. Mr.
Sooby stated that City Hall received
many phone calls when those signs
were first erected, but the results
have been satisfactory.
The Chairman indicated that very
often the Planning Commission, when
questioning situations which are
potential traffic hazards, are told
that this is not a matter they shou
concern themselves with, but that
it is a matter to be dealt with by
the Traffic Committee. He does not
accept this and asked for better
liaison between the two committees.
It was agreed that one way to impro
communication might be through re-
ceipt of Traffic Committee agendas
by the Planning Commission.
Commissioner McLain then discussed
other hazardous traffic situations -
one being First Street and Main
Street which was reviewed by the
Traffic Committee. They recommended
that it be essentially a three-lane
road with left turn from the center
lane.
\\
\`\\\
»~~»
-11-
_.._ _ _
