CIT'P of PLEASANTQN
Planning Commissfo~
AQINU'i~~t 4F REGUi_AR METING,
Data ; April 10, 1974
Ttmq; , 8:16 P.M.
PIGCa.; .Pleasanton Justice Court
That evening, Mr. Harris was handed a fetter
from the adjoining neighbor, Mr. Peter Mohr,
431 St. Mary Street, who objected to this
use feeling that in time the school, and
especially the use of the driveway to serve
so large a number of cars, would become an
imposition. This letter was read aloud by
Chairman Pereira for the benefit of those
present.
Mr. Ward Tanneberg, Pastor of Valley Chris-
` tian Center, spoke for this application,
explaining the hours of operation and the
number of children who will be on premises
.at any given time. He stated that this
.center would operate as an auxiliary to the-
imain one in Dublin.
~~Mr. Don Johnson, 7187 Valley Trails Drive
,,spoke, stating that he sympathized with
~Mr. Mohr, since he had a problem with "rowdy
'.!neighbors and the problems which can arise
';from living next to unsatisfactory neighbors
(Also speaking against this application were:
iTom Nerton, 462 St. Mary, objecting to
traffic and parking; Ms. Silva, 459 St. Mary
'who concurred with Mr. Nerton's objections; ~
~~Mr. Gary Bell, 444 St. Mary. ~
Those speaking in favor of this application
oere: Ron Spence, 478 St. Mary, has a
young child and feels that this school would
~e an asset for him; Kathryn Box, 4019 Jack
court, is presently taking her daughter to
the Dublin center, where the children are
very well supervised; David Barnyard, 5500`
Jld School Road - felt that most fears re-
3arding nursery schools are unfounded, since
the one in his neighborhood has caused no
problems.
the Public Hearing was then closed.
'he Chairman noted that the operation calls
for allowing 44 children. He had concerns
about this.
-6-

\\
\\\~
\\\~\
i~~~»~
i
