Page 6
do the job and such things as oleanders, etc. might be considered.
Commissioner Getty said she doesn't believe this is feasible.
Commissioner Jamieson said it would appear to him that they could have
the house panel in the back and the power sources in the front. Mr. Bras
said the building is designed with expansion in mind. Mr. Bras indicated
they have an emergency generator.
Commissioner Lindsey asked if there would be any connections from the
Ray Street office. Mr. Bras said no that the building in this appli-
cation is meant to accommodate the area.
Lee Henderson, 2870 Foothill Road, suggested putting the transformer
in the building. Commissioner Wilson said the PUC and PG&E do not
allow this. He said he supports Mr. Harris' suggestion that the
transformer not be in front of the deluxe building. He said there is
plenty of open space on the property for expansion.
The public hearing was closed.
Commissioner Getty said it appears the building is set back from the
other buildings in the area and it might be feasible to have the
transformer in the front. Commissioner Wilson said it is unfortunate
the Planning Commission approved a building right next door with a
transformer in the front. Mr. Harris said it wasn't noticed on the
plans but that it is not at the front of that building. Commissioner
Doherty said the Planning Commission can make a mistake but doesn't
have to duplicate that error.
Commissioner Doherty made a motion to recommend approval of case
PUD-81-30-8D, subject to the conditions shown in the staff report
amending Condition No. 5 to read "that the transformer shown near
the southeast corner of the building be undergrounded or be moved
to rear of the building and properly screened."
This motion was seconded by Commissioner Getty.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Jamieson, Wilson and
Chairperson Lindsey
Noes: None
Absent: None
Abstain: None
Resolution No. 2206 was then entered and adopted recommending approval
of case PUD-81-30-8D as motioned.
Tract 5079
Application of Mildred Vallarino and Harris Realty Company to subdivide
an approximately 4.7 acre site into 62 parcels, located on the north
side of Vineyard Avenue at the intersection of Amador Court and Vineyard
Avenue. Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development)-
High Density Residential District.
