Commissioner Jamieson asked about Mr. Dillon's letter attached to the
staff report (page 3) regarding trucks travelling to I-680. He
indicated he would like to see this added as a condition of approval.
Commissioner Getty said she agrees with this especially in light of the
gravel truck situation.
Commissioner Wilson asked about the width of the planted area on the
south side of the property where the trucks and trailers would be
parked. Mr. Harris indicated that staff recommends it be widened
from 4 ft. to 6 ft.
The public hearing was opened.
Mr. Kavthekar, 14489 Industry Circle, La Mirada, California 90637,
addressed the Commission and said he has no comment with regard to
the staff report and concurs with the comments made thereon. He
did say that while his plan does not show a chain link fence, he
wishes to have one around the property for security purposes.
The public hearing was closed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Jamieson, seconded by Commissioner
Wilson that approval of case UP-82-13, Proficient Food Company and
Scholastic Magazines, Inc. would have no significant adverse
environmental impact on the environment and that the Negative Declara-
tion prepared be adopted.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Getty, Jamieson, Wilson and Chairperson Lindsey
Noes: None
Absent: Commissioner Doherty
Abstain: None
Resolution No. 2211 was then entered and adopted approving the
negative declaration prepared for case UP-82-13 as motioned.
A motion was made by Commissioner Jamieson, seconded by Commissioner
Wilson that the findings as shown in the staff report of August 30,
1982 are made and that case UP-82-13 be approved subject to the
eight conditions of the staff report, adding condition nine, as
referred to in Mr. Dillon's letter of August 18, 1982, page 3, as
follows: That all truck traffic generated by the project shall use
only Sunol Boulevard between the subject property and I-680.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Getty, Jamieson, Wilson and Chairperson Lindsey
Noes: None
Absent: Commissioner Doherty
Abstain: None
Resolution No. 2212 was then entered and adopted approving case
UP-82-13 as motioned.
-2-
