~"~~""'°~ CITY of PLEASANTON <br />Planning Commission <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING, <br />DGte : March 10 , 1976 <br />Time ; 8:00 P.M. <br />PIGCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />MATTERS INITIATED <br />BY COMMISSION <br />MEMBERS <br />The Commissioners adopted a resoluti <br />approving the request of the Directo <br />of Engineering Services and made the <br />required findings of conformity per <br />Resolution No. 1401. <br />Commissioner Carrigan suggested that <br />in order to save time when reviewing <br />items noted under Matters for Com- <br />mission's Review, that the Chairman <br />and staff establish method to <br />achieve greater communication in <br />order to eliminate or perhaps shorte <br />review time. <br />Some discussion ensued regarding <br />legality of repair of sidewalks <br />damaged because of tree growth. <br />Deputy City Attorney Levine stated <br />that under State Law, repair of <br />broken sidewalks is the obligation <br />of the homeowner, but if someone get <br />hurt on the sidewalk, the City may <br />be liable. <br />Mr. Frank Brandes, Jr., newly ap- <br />pointed Council member spoke a few <br />words. He stated that he is very <br />concerned about the decision-making <br />processes and intends to be present <br />at their meetings. He requested <br />open communications between himself <br />and the Commission members. He <br />stressed that the liaison member had <br />not been selected up to the present <br />time . <br />Chairman Wood advised the other <br />members that several planning books <br />-14- <br />
